Hello everyone, I'm Xu Jie from the Design Department. I believe the home gift design industry is entering a golden age of quality. The future winners won't rely on a single perspective alone. Rather, they’ll need to build a complete system of input and output thinking.
As designers, we need to regularly attend relevant trade shows to directly experience the latest materials and craftsmanship and get a feel for color trends. We should browse major websites to analyze and understand their design philosophies. We should visit factories regularly and chat with factory owners or sales staff to learn what's selling well and open up new lines of thinking. We can also draw inspiration from fashion weeks, architectural design, and other fields, as these often serve as leading indicators for home décor trends. And we should factor in the national situation to avoid over-exploiting certain materials.
When we encounter these elements, we should ask “why” — then organize the information we've gathered into trend reports covering dimensions such as color, materials, form, context, and emotion, to guide our design direction.
We need a clear understanding of who our target customers are — their lifestyles, aesthetic preferences, and consumption habits. Ultimately, maintaining design sensitivity comes down to curiosity, cultural integration, and creating commercial value. Gifts are no longer simple objects; they are important vehicles for connecting emotions, conveying warmth, and defining ways of living.
