What’s the biggest fear in foreign trade? You close the deal and ship the goods, but the final payment never arrives. Buyers delay payment, refuse delivery, or even go bankrupt. Any one of these risks can wipe out an entire transaction. That’s where credit insurance comes in as a critical line of defense. But how do you buy it, what should it cover, and what should you watch out for? Many salespeople still only half understand it.
This afternoon, the company held a dedicated credit insurance training session for its foreign trade sales staff. It was led by Zhao Ping, manager of the Documentation Department. Every business-related employee attended, and other interested colleagues came too once they heard about it. The room was full of energy for learning.
The training covered four main areas: an introduction to the China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation (Sinosure), the three key elements of taking out a policy, the main types of coverage, and important precautions when buying a policy. Instead of reading from a textbook, the session used real cases from the company to break each point down in detail. Which information has to be exactly right when applying? Which coverage types suit which kinds of transactions? Which overlooked details could cause problems with a claim later? As one real case after another was laid out, many colleagues had a lightbulb moment: there’s a lot more to this than they had realized!
To make sure people didn’t just “hear about it,” the training also included a Q&A session. Attendees put what they had just learned to work right away, applying the new knowledge to real business scenarios. Abstract concepts became concrete, and everyone got a clearer sense of how to use what they’d learned.
By the end of the training, people walked away with more than new knowledge. They gained awareness of how to prevent risk and the confidence to handle it. Credit insurance protects against risk and steadies confidence. On the road of foreign trade, professional expertise is the best moat.
The learning doesn’t stop, and neither does growth. The company will keep organizing professional training of all kinds, supporting the foreign trade team as they level up and take on every challenge along the way!
